Sudden rise of Japanese yen

Why did Japanese yen rise today? I think its cause is 17% of Cabinet approval rate.

That rate shows Kishida Cabinet is coming into catastrophe, and currency market seems to be expecting another political leader of Japan. More correctly, great number of people believe Kishida's resignation and change to more competent leader. So, Japanese currency suddenly rose in currency market.

円安

  円安が留まるところを知らない。
  1米ドル100円の時と1米ドル140円の今を比べると、ドルの通貨価値は対円で1.4倍、分数に直せば14/10倍つまり7/5倍になったのであり、これは円の通貨価値が対米ドル5/7に下落したことを意味する。今まで7ドルの価値があった日本の通貨が5ドルの価値しか無くなったのであるから、輸入物価は当然上昇することになり、それは早晩、最終消費者である生活者の懐を直撃することになる。
  もちろん経営者の側にも一層の努力が求められ、それに耐えられない業者は容赦なく淘汰されることになろう。例えば学習塾の場合には、顧客全般の家計が厳しくなるので、どんなに人件費をはじめとする諸経費を抑えても、マンツーマンとか1対2とかいう非効率なスタイルでは経営が難しくなると思われる。

８月６日

核兵器がどれほど反人道的なものであるか、決して忘れてはならない。
77年前の今日、８月６日に投下された原爆によって酷くも命を奪われた夥しい数の人々のことを、決して忘れてはならない。そうであるからには、核兵器の使用には "NO" と言い続けねばならない。

インフレターゲットは、やはり間違った政策だった

小生が2012年12月17日にこのブログに書いたとおりに、インフレターゲットという政策は誤りだった。
経済の法則が明確に示しているのは、経済が好循環して人々の生活に余裕ができれば、人々の購買意欲や企業の投資意欲が増大して物が売れ、その結果としてインフレが生じることである。経済の循環を無視した無理やりのインフレ目標は人々の生活を破壊することになり、それが今現実のものとなっている。

Guardian紙のウェブサイト

  イギリスの新聞 The Guardian のウェブサイトのトップは、もう大分前から Ukraine Invasion (ウクライナ侵略) というタイトルになっていて、その中でのトップ記事は Live / Russia-Ukraine war latest (ライブ / ロシア-ウクライナ戦争の最新情報) となっている。
  そのライブ欄に日本時間の４月４日22時30分現在掲載されている記事は、
 Zelenskiy says Russian troops’ atrocities make peace negotiations harder
(ロシアの軍隊の残虐行為が平和交渉を行うことを一層難しくしていると、ゼレンスキーは言う)
という記事である。

  ロシアとの停戦交渉にウクライナが応じないとすれば、現在の状況に出口はないことになろう。NATOが参戦する世界的規模の戦争への拡大を含めて、この先が本当に心配である。

It is never allowed, but

Of course, invading into Ukraine by Putin must be never allowed. But if the war becomes worldwide, there will arise huge disaster in the world. So, i think, the best way to make the war end is to raise voice against Russia, together with people all over the world including Russian people.
If the voices become stronger and stronger, if the voices become larger and larger also in Russia, there could be no other choice except for giving up the invasion and getting out of Ukraine. We should hate the invasion of Russia but should not hate Russian people themselves.

許されることではないが

ロシアのプーチン大統領がウクライナへ侵攻したことは、断じて許されるべきことではない。しかし、ロシアと全面戦争するようなことになれば全世界に多大な損害と悲劇が発生する。であるなら、ロシアにウクライナから撤退させる世論をロシアの人々とも共有して、プーチンを諦めさせるように仕向けるのがベストのシナリオであろう。ロシアの撤退後には、ウクライナはNATOに加入せず中立のポジションをとるべきである。

アベノミクスで菓子が小さくなった

 アベノミクスは日銀に国債やETF (上場投資信託) を大量買いさせて、円の通貨流通量を増やすことによって目標のインフレを目指す経済政策であった。しかし、生活者の所得は概ね増えなかったから、計画的なインフレはしばしば腰折れした。
 とは言っても、通貨としての円の流通量が増えたことによって国際経済の中での円の価値は下がり、それが原材料の輸入価格を押し上げた。かくして、子どもたちがおやつに食べる菓子は、ずいぶんと小さくなったしまった。当塾では、塾生たちの勉強の小ブレイクにキットカットやカントリーマームなどの菓子を提供しているが、この２品目はかなり小さくなってしまった。これがアベノミクスの経済効果の典型的な例なのかな。

パラリンピックよりも生命

パラリンピックの開会式が行われているが、はっきり言って今はパラリンピックよりも生命である。東京では何万人もの人がコロナの重症化によって激しい苦痛に苛まれたり、死の恐怖に怯えたり、死を覚悟したりしている。五輪の選手村は大規模療養施設として使えばよかったのである。
助かる生命を見殺しにしてスポーツイベントを開催するなどということは、断じて許されるべきではない。

What is pandemic?

 As the result of the course, Tokyo Olympics will be held next month for the profit of economic giants. Japanese prime minister Yoshihide Suga often says "safe and secure", and what does it mean?
 As everyone knows, situation of the outbreak of COVID-19 is pandemic: it has been causing tragedy around the world. Millions of people died by this disease.

 In recent situation of developed countries, with proceeding of vaccination, we have come to feel safe relatively. But in the developing countries, non-developed countries and poor countries, situations are completely different. So, if we hold Olympics and Paralympics in this summer, there is possibility that several variants of COVID (including new variants of Tokyo 2021) will be brought back to the nations of athletes and bring about new outbreaks in those countries.
 Pandemic is never the matter of one country. It's the matter of whole world. Does Mr. Suga know about it? If he knows it and says "safe and secure Olympics", he must be responsible to the whole world. And of course, it is impossible!

 Stop Tokyo Olympics! Stop it right now!
